Laure Gambardella, research Associate

Laure is a developmental stem cell biologist. In 1999, she received her doctorate from the University Pierre and Marie Curie in Paris for studying transcription factors in epidermis and hair follicle stem cells. After several post-doctoral experiences in the UK, France and Switzerland, working on the development and function of different cell types (Hematopoietic stem cells, B lymphocytes, Endothelial cells, Neutrophils…), she joined the Sinha Lab in 2014 to work on the epicardium and it’s potential in cardiac regeneration. Laure is particularly interested in cell heterogeneity. She introduced single cell analysis in the lab. Her objective is to produce the best mix of cardiac cells to prevent heart failure after myocardial infarction. Out of hours, Laure continues her fight against cardio-vascular diseases: she teaches cardio-training a few evenings a week as a Zumba and STRONG by Zumba® instructor.
