Aminder Singh, Clinical Graduate Student
Aminder is a Wellcome Trust Clinical PhD Fellow, an Honorary Royal College of Surgeons of England Research Fellow and a Higher Specialty Trainee in Vascular Surgery.
He read Medicine at Newcastle University where he also obtained an intercalated Master of Research degree. He was appointed to a Vascular Surgery integrated clinical academic programme in East of England where he developed an interest in complex aortic disease and spent his research time in the Sinha Lab.
Currently, he is using iPSC modelling to investigate thoracic aortic disease genomic variants identified by the 100,000 Genomes Project to determine causality and unpick molecular mechanisms that lead to disease. He will use this platform to assess therapeutics and build a 3D model which mimics the aortic wall.
Outside of work, he loves exploring new cultures and is a keen sports enthusiast (with a particular love of F1).
