I am one of the first people to have worked in the Sinha lab (2008-2011). Working as Dr. Sinha’s research assistant at the time has been a major milestone in my career. I learned the basics of cell culture and got to work on both human and mouse embryonic cell lines, optimising their cardiomyocyte differentiation protocol. Establishing new lab methods while being a lab manager at the same time gave me a lot of confidence to stay in academia for a while. I went on to become an advanced research assistant at Sanger institute. Shortly afterwards, I left to live in Germany in order to pursue a PhD in Molecular cardiology. Upon finishing my PhD, I got an opportunity to work in Abcam, Cambridge, so I moved from academia into industry. At the moment, I am working in Horizon Discovery as a Product scientist. Dr. Sinha has been a great mentor all these years.
